Lancaster County PA Area Guide
Lancaster County is a popular tourist destination because of the county’s many plain sect residents, known as the Amish or Pennsylvania Dutch. Residents of Lancaster can easily spot a visitor to the county by how they pronounce the word “Lancaster.” Lancaster County History
The seal signifies the heart of man living in the heart of God and so recognizes the freedom and diversity of religion in the county and its strong influence for virtue, truth, and honesty. Inside the heart is a Conestoga Wagon, which is a product of the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our country. The heart is surmounted by Pennsylvania rifles. The earth is shown at the bottom of the heart to mark our appreciation of its beneficence and the stewardship of our farmers. There are also piles of husked corn that lie on the ground in tribute to the native grain. Lancaster County Parks and Recreation
